Say What?
According to astronomers, next week Wednesday will occur twice. They say such a thing happens only once every 60,000 years, and, although they don't know why it occurs, they're glad they have an extra day to figure it out.

Science Fact
Back in the 1880’s there was even a ‘war of currents’ between Thomas Edison (who helped invent DC) and Nikola Tesla (who helped invent AC). Both wanted their system to be used with AC eventually winning out due to the fact that it is safer and can be used over longer distances.
Weird Science
Your body makes about two pints of spit every day. There are glands in your mouth that produce the spit. Spit is mostly water but it also contains chemicals that kill germs and pre-digest the food that you eat. There's also a little bit of urea and uric acid in it (same stuff that makes urine or pee). Spits biggest function is to help you digest the food that you eat. It also lubricates the mouth making food easier to chew and move through the throat to the stomach. As the spit dissolves the food in your mouth, chemicals are released onto your tongue. The taste buds on your tongue detect these chemicals and send a signal to your brain about the taste.

Pulsars are rotating neutron stars with huge magnetic fields, which emit electromagnetic radiation. They are formed from the core of a star exploding in a supernova!

Did U Know?
Astronauts cannot belch - there is no gravity to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs. Whether or not they can toot in space is still being investigated.
Lab Reports
Lab Monkey Report
We are cranking out experiments for the little scientists as fast as we can and have rolled out several new (advanced) experiments during the past two weeks. Still, Reeko will not increase of banana quota to more than 12 bananas per day which we feel is highly unfair. The rats are fed several times a day and being the superior species, we feel we deserve as many bananas as we want. Reeko says the potassium in the bananas causes a chemical imbalance in our brains which results in us repeating ourselves over and over again. We of course, know that is not true. We of course, know that is not true.
Lab Rat Report
Sorry, the rats are on strike and have taken the day off
Lab Cat Report
The lab cats have nothing to report but wish to pose the following question to the group. If one of the lab rats slips on a banana peel, falls down two flights of stairs, bounces off the floor and into the cook pot in the lab fireplace, is it OK to eat them?
Wisecracks
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
